I love Angel’s Trumpet flowers. They smell amazing, they look beautiful, and they bloom all year round. The moment you pick one, and put it in your hair, it begins to wilt and droop — these flowers only last about 15 minutes off the vine.
That will never do.
I decided I wanted to model an Angel’s Trumpet flower in Fusion360, so I could hang them around inside my house. I even went one step further and made it into a pendant lamp shade with this awesome Galaxy Light bulb. I’ve made 3 so far and am printing a 4th. I want to put them everywhere.
My new Adafruit guide details the process of 3d modeling this flower. I just finished a guide earlier this year modeling a star flower light.. I might do a few more flower tutorials because I’m just so happy with how they’re turning out.
This one was printed in color-changing filament: at room temperature it’s a beautiful spring green, and when the light bulb warms the shade up it turns a beautiful angel’s-trumpet yellow.
See the full tutorial on the Adafruit Learning System. Enjoy!
