It’s the holiday season and I’m feeling a bit festive.
I used my Cricut vinyl cutter and a Circuit Playground BlueFruit to make some pretty luminary lanterns to decorate my house. I’m far too lazy to light and maintain real candles, so I had a fun time coding a candle flicker animation in CircuitPython and adding it into the mix. Now I can have a whole series of candle flame flicker luminaries come on with one button touch — or I can control them with my phone using Adafruit’s BlueFruit app. I’m pretty happy with them — this was a super fun and crafty project to make.

I love combining electronics with paper crafting! It’s pretty easy to make really cool stuff. 🙂
