I made a very very pretty hoodie.
I found this amazing hoodie at Maker Faire, made by Kinetic Couture. I couldn’t resist it, and decided to take it home and add lots and lots of pretty lights to it.
It’s controlled by 7 glowing 3d printed push-buttons, which show the colors of the rainbow and evoke the seven chakras. Each button controls the color palette of the rest of the lights on the hoodie — press the red button and the lights animate in red, etc.
I’ll be blogging about the entire creation process on the Adafruit Learning Center soon, but for now, I’ve published an introductory guide describing the process of making and controlling the buttons themselves. I’ve wanted glowing, controllable buttons for a long time and they haven’t existed on the market (you can find single-color buttons but not neopixel-style controllable ones).
Here is the push button guide on the Adafruit Learning Center. Make all the blinky buttons light up and control all the things!
