I’ve been playing with epoxy resin a whole bunch lately. I’ve seen a lot of these online and the mermaid in me just HAD to try making one.
Then the LED artist in me had to make it light up!

In the Disney moving Moana, there’s a character called Gramma Tala who becomes a bioluminescent manta ray spirit when she dies, and comes back to visit Moana in her time of need. This scene has always moved me a lot, and I wanted to evoke the same feeling of magic and wonder with this artwork.

I have a couple scrolling ocean wave images in there as well. Every time I look at it my heart lifts a bit and I remember that there’s magic in the world.
